What We Collect

When you create an account we store your name, email address, and a hashed password (or OAuth provider ID). We also store the roasts you generate so you can access your history.

Roasting Without an Account

If you roast something without signing up, we store a salted hash of your IP address alongside a daily counter, so we can apply the free daily limit. We do not store the IP address itself, and the counter is scoped to a single day.

Uploaded Files

Files you upload (resumes, PDFs) are processed in memory and never written to disk or stored. They are sent to our AI provider for analysis and discarded immediately after the roast is generated.

AI Processing

Your input text is sent to Anthropic's Claude API for roast generation. Anthropic's data retention policies apply to that processing. We do not use your data to train models.

Payments

We do not currently process payments. There are no paid plans, we use no payment provider, and we hold no billing or card information of any kind. If that changes, this policy will be updated before any payment is taken.

Error Tracking

We use Sentry to record errors and a sample of performance data so we can find and fix faults. This may include your browser, page URL, and a technical stack trace, and is processed on Sentry's servers in the United States. We do not send your roast content to Sentry.

Cookies

We use a session cookie to keep you logged in. No advertising or third-party tracking cookies are used.

Data Deletion

There is currently no self-service delete button. Email us at [email protected] and we will delete your account and all associated roasts. Anonymous IP-hash counters expire on their own and are not linked to any account.
